Welcome to Year 9 of the Bob 5K!
We are excited to announce that, for the first time this year, our event will be held on a Saturday morning!
This year the race will be Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. in Library Park in Waterbury, Conn.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m.
For years our event has been held on Sunday afternoon due to our longtime partnership with Main Street Waterbury's Brew Fest. Brew Fest is held Saturday afternoon and generously donates to us the use of its tents, tables, and portable toilets on Sunday.
Knowing that runners prefer a morning race, we reached out to Main Street Waterbury and are thrilled to report we’ll be holding our event on the north end of the park before Brew Fest opens for the day.
Our race fees are adults $25 in advance and $30 on race day, children under age 12, $10 in advance and $15 on race day. T-shirts and goodie bags will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. Trophies and prizes will be awarded. Individual and corporate sponsorships are available.
I also want to note the change from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning will mean a few other changes this year:
- We will be reducing or eliminating the activities we normally offer children in the park because our footprint in the park will be much more limited given Brew Fest will be setting up for the day; and,
- Due to a scheduling conflict, marathon legend Bill Rodgers will not be able to attend.
